Mr Whippy has run a full factory test launch at its new £15m, custom-built production facility in Sheffield, with the first doughnuts coming off the completed production line. The company announced the test launch on 7 October 2026.
The heritage food brand completed the specialist food production fit out in September 2026 and went live with test doughnut production in front of investor and company chairman Scott Fletcher MBE and its 10-strong management team. The company said the project went from concept to start in 13 months.
Made, packed and dispatched under one roof
The site uses end-to-end automation, modern layouts and direct distribution, which the company said lets Mr Whippy manufacture, pack and dispatch under one roof and cut the time from oven to aisle.
Equipment has come from industry specialists WP Kemper, Rondo, Proseal and Starfrost, for the company’s branded label bakery operations. The range is palm-oil free and made for a longer shelf life and consistent quality.
Full production sign-off is due later in 2026. Strategic development director Joe Sealey has used his industry ties to bring major UK retailers on board, the company said. It did not name the retailers.
Founder and chief executive Michael Corrado Jackson said: “A project of this calibre would normally take two to three years to realise, but we are here in just 13 months.”
He added: “The full factory test launch was a complete success and production will start later this year. This facility is a vital part of achieving our ambition to make superior products more accessible to people, and set the bar for product consistency, operational efficiency and food hygiene.”
